It Is Absolutely Perfect Not To Be Perfect!
People often try to be perfect in whatever they do. This approach of them might not make them perfect, but make them even depressed and lose confidence and hope, let alone perfection.
You try to be perfect and confident when you are being tested or judged by someone or the other. It happens generally when you are to perform in public. People judge and they will, always. You can't change their mindset. But, you can tell yourself that you are doing fine. Everybody does mistakes.
A single blunder in a dance performance makes the dancer nervous and loose confidence. Even a burp makes the speakers ashamed of themselves while they are speaking in public. All these things carry away your so-called SELF-RESPECT and make you seem small in front of the 'Big People' that is, PEOPLE. People who are just like you.
I know a man who took 3 years to make his first film. He never went to any film school neither did he know anything about making a film. While in his first film, he called the crew, the camera man, actors, producer, etc. He didn't know what to do. He pretended that he knows everything. The funny part is, whatever the cameraman asked him about shoot, he replied yes I was going to instruct you this only. Lol. He somehow managed to make the film without getting the crew know about him. They would have thrown him out otherwise. He had not only made his film, but also learned a lot. He learned from the cinematographer about how to shoot, the acting from the actors, and so on.
The lesson we get from this is, being perfect is not the solution to a problem. Nobody is perfect, people learn. The solution is, be receptive and learn things from whatever source you get.
The filmmaker I talked about is none other than Imtiaz Ali, who, having learned from his debut, made blockbuster films and is now known to be one of the best Indian filmmakers. His first film made him learn so much that his second film 'Jab we met' became a blockbuster and a film to remember whole life. He then made many hits such as Rockstar, Highway and Tamasha.
If you think that you've become perfect, eventually you'll stop learning. Be a little crazy, do mistakes and be yourself. Be original. But most importantly, be receptive.
